DIFFERENT WAYS OF STYLING SARI

Hello everyone!
How are you all ? Today I am going to show you all different ways of styling those "six yards of sheer elegance" - SARI

Not only the Indians but I think most of the people know what a sari is. It has became very popular among people from different parts of the world. But for those who don't what it is, here is a little about it.

sari is a South Asian female garment that consists of a drape varying from five to nine yards in length and two to four feet in breadth that is typically wrapped around the waist, with one end draped over the shoulder, baring the midriff. It is basically worn with petticoat and blouse beneath it. So yes this what a sari or saree is.

Sari has evolved manifold from its initial days to this modern era. It no longer is restricted to be worn in its traditional way. It has taken so many forms and style in today's dynamic and fashionable world.
Designers like John Galliano, Marchesa, Hermes, Tarun Tahiliani, Gaurav Gupta, Abraham & Takore and many more has experimented with six yards of cloth and have given a complete new form to it.

Celebraties like Blake Lively (serena wanderwoodsen from "The Gossip Girl" fame), Dita Von Teese and many Indian actresses like Rekha, Deepika Padukone, sonam Kapoor , Priyanka Chopra and the list still goes on worn it in one or other way on several Red Carpet events.

It has been rightly said "Nothing makes a Woman more beautiful like a Saree does".

So here are some different ways of styling it.....

Models wearing sari with top jacket which gives new look to this traditional attire.

A creation of Abraham & Takore. Its basically a "dhoti" sari. The belt over the saree gives it a modern touch.

This style is my favorite of all. This one is Tarun Tahiliani creation. As soon as the fashionista saw this on ramp quickly she booked this look for herself. I completely love this way of wearing saree. Its a dhoti saree which makes you look very active, like a business women, yet giving you a very feminine look. Carrying saree looks very difficult task but this one looks really comfy.

This is Benali way of drapping the saree. There are saris with big broad borders all over. See how actresses Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vidya Balan and Celina Jaitly have elegantly carried their saris.

In the picture above the first shows you Maharashtrian (Maharashtra in India) way of draping the sari. See how the woman has accessorized her outfit with gold ornaments around her neck and waist.
Second pic is of actress Priyanka Chopra who is wearing saree, the traditional way and still looking gorgeous and the third pic shows you the lehenga saree. Usually brides go for Lehenga sarees in their wedding functions.

Hope you liked the post and found it yourself. Which look is your personal favorite do tell me in the comments below. Lookin forward to read your lovely and inspiring comments. See yyou in my next post....
